The Gino Bartali Cycling Museum is now part of the Civic Museums of Florence, after the agreement between the Communal Administration and the Association “Friends of Gino Bartali Cycling Museum”. The museum is situated in Ponte a Ema, where Bartali was born and raised. It contains a wide collection of velocipedes, bicycles, shirts, trophies, magazines, books and short movies celebrating the history of cycling and the accomplishments of Gino Bartali and other athletes. The area of two thousand square meters is divided in three parts: level one includes a series of bicycles from different centuries, while at the ground floor there is an interesting exhibition of bicycles used by the most famous athletes, including a perfectly preserved Stucchi bike, the shirts of Gino Bartali, Fausto Coppi, Franco Bitossi, Alfredo Martini and memorabilia of other professional cyclists (Bitossi, Boni, Chioccioli, Ciolli, Corrieri, Martini, Poggiali, Tognaccini). There is also an entire area dedicated to Gino Bartali with biographies, trophies and other relics.
